Catch up Post #1 from Night Owl Quilting

So... it appears that I haven't shared any quilts since April!  I have in fact been quilting, but spent a lot of time enjoying my summer as well.  So time to share some of the wonderful things that have travelled through my studio in the last 5 months.

First up is the lovely BQ4 quilt that Marion brought.  Her niece fell in love with the black print and had Marion make it into a quilt for her.  The BQ patterns from Maple Island quilts are a great way to show off a larger scale print.

We used the Dragon ...

Purple Log Cabin from Night Owl Quilting

Ann sewed many, many seams to create this pretty log cabin quilt.  She used her design wall to come up with the pattern that starts from the centre.

To keep with the pretty colors and floral print, Ann selected the Feathered Garden pantograph.  It really jumps off the solids on the front of the quilt.  We used a shiny lilac Magnifico thread.

Cream and Sugar from Night Owl Quilting

This pretty and delicate quilt was made by Audrey.  The pattern is the Cream and Sugar Block of the Month by It's Sew Emma.  Audrey used fabrics from her stash to pull this quilt together, and I think she did an amazing job.  I personally have next to no fabrics of this type in my stash, but I was really drawn to this quilt, and does it ever look good in my spare room where I often photograph quilts.

Audrey chose the ...

Batik Drunkard's Path from Night Owl Quilting

This batik beauty was made by Marion.  The two sizes of Crazy Curves/Drunkard's Path blocks add a lot of interest to the quilt top.

Marion chose the Feathered Garden pantograph and a copper colored shiny Magnifico thread for the quilting.

Ladder Cake from Night Owl Quilting

Reneta sent this fun and floral Ladder Cake Quilt.   This quilt seemed very different from Reneta's typical quilting style, so we ended up using a pantograph that is not her usual choice either.

Reneta is normally one of my "no feathers please" clients, but the Feather Garden pantograph seemed like the perfect fit with it mix of roses and feather plumes.  I used a cream colored thread that blended well across the prints in the quilt.

Lazy Goose from Night Owl Quilting

Joanne sent this beautiful Lazy Goose Quilt.  The pattern is available from Running Doe Quilts.

Joanne selected the Feathered Garden pantograph and a medium green thread,  Maginifico #2093 - Sorrento.

I think the quilting and thread choice tie all the fabrics and backing together perfectly.

Feathered Garden from Night Owl Quilting

Margaret made the sweet charm square quilt with some traditional feeling fabrics.  Margaret had planned to give this quilt away as a gift for a friend, but after she saw it quilted she thought she might just be making some else for her friend because she loved it so much.

Margaret selected the Feathered Garden Pantograph and I think it suited the quilt perfectly.
